The Night Wind
04:33

The Night-Wind
In summer's mellow midnight,
A cloudless moon shone through
Our open parlour window,
And rose-trees wet with dew.
I sat in silent musing,
The soft wind waved my hair;
It told me Heaven was glorious,
And sleeping Earth was fair.
I needed not its breathing
To bring such thoughts to me,
But still it whispered lowly,
"How dark the woods will be!
"The thick leaves in my murmur
Are rustling like a dream,
And all their myriad voices
Instinct with spirit seem."
I said, "Go, gentle singer,
Thy wooing voice is kind:
But do not think its music
Has power to reach my mind.
"Play with the scented flower,
The young tree's supple bough,
And leave my human feelings
In their own course to flow."
The wanderer would not leave me;
Its kiss grew warmer still -
"O come," it sighed so sweetly,
"I'll win thee 'gainst thy will.
"Have we not been from childhood friends?
Have I not loved thee long?
As long as thou hast loved the night,
Whose silence wakes my song.
"And when thy heart is laid at rest
Beneath the church-yard stone
I shall have time enough to mourn
And thou to be alone."

Forest Road
04:30
|
|||
White curtain's dancing in the wind
The magic glow of setting sun
I walked this way many a time
Through blooming fields of mountaint thyme
Oh I know it well, I know this way
It's close to heaven, so they say
I follow you, the forest road,
Tell me the secret I forgot
Forgotten song my heart is singing
You are my sweetest memory
What will I choose, your love and treason?
Or loyalty and misery?
Oh I know it well, but I know the way
It's close to heaven, so they say
I follow you, the forest road,
Tell me the secret I forgot
There is no answer to my prayer
Perhaps this tale was left unspoken
And promises, they will be broken
I say good-bye to my despair
Oh I know it well, but I know the way
It's close to heaven, so they say
I follow you, the forest road,
Tell me the secret I forgot

Chiefman

|

Hey chiefman, what's wrong this time?
Hey chief, do you read my mind?
Conveyor of mission, projector of vision
Your crystal ball is broken
Hey chief, do you have a clue?
Or con-man job is all you do?
Some singing, some dancing, your nonsense advancing
You really must be at the end of the line.
I hope one day
You find your place under the sun
In narrow place, as big as your mind
One day, one day...
Ooh, you're such a magic fella
Don't ya loose your magic cello
I hope one day
You find your place under the sun
In narrow place, as big as your mind
One day, one day...

Wild Strawberry Wine
04:42
|
|||
I.
Oh I have no song to sing
And no bills to pay
For this merry month of May
And I have no regrets
At least for today
Just today
So I gonna make me
Wild strawberry wine
Wild strawberry wine
Catch the sun in every bottle
For my dreams to shine
II.
The song that I want to sing
Was sung before
Oh so many times
And note that I want to play
Was played ten times more
Oh yes, it was
And the wind in the trees
Promised me simple joys
Just simple life
And I almost believed him
Knowing old joker ploys
III.
So I gonna pour me
That strawberry wine
Wild strawberry wine
And listen to the wind blow
Through the old
And moaning pine
Yes I know, the stars will shimmer
At the end of the day
Oh what a day!
What awaits for me tomorrow
Is for no one to say!

Never Found
03:57
|
|||
I never found you
And never will
Maybe because you lived before me
One thousand years
Maybe because you're just a dream
Of sweet cherry tree in blossom
Maybe because you're just the sky
So dizzy, blue, and high
Maybe because you're just the silence
In a dark and lovely woods
Just sound of raindrops, just sound of raindrops
Or raspy voice in a Doric minor mood
I never found you
And never, never, never will
Maybe because you lived before me
One thousand years

Songbird
03:56
|
|||
You cannot sing this song
This is not your style
You cannot feel this pain
This is only pain of mine
You better pack your bags
Go back where you came from
I'm sitting on a top branch
Of the highest tree
I'm looking at the world
Beneath my feet
So, as I told you before
Just go.
Desert is following you
Your greed has no end
Ruthless brain is working
You think all world is
At your command
Restless fool, no one, no one, no one
No one can stop you.

Betrayed
03:37
|
|||
Late summer rain
Heaven is crying
But my eyes
They are dry
Not a single tear will drop now
From this low down
Soul of mine
Devil's got my baby
He don't let him go
When the spring came he got him
Now he don't wanna let him go
Don't know what to do I have nowhere to run
Got to wait
Till the first snow
You shattered my world
And crashed it with your feet
Nowhere to hide
Darkness on the street
Late summer rain
Heaven is crying
But my eyes
They are dry
They are dry

The Choice
03:00
|
|||
The spark, alignment of the stars
You're all in tune, and all is right
The height so random reached by few
Elusive beauty tamed at last
And then your journey is no more
You linger still...but have to go
Perfection broken, past and gone
And your only choice is to go on
The depth of emptiness I want to know
Was it as deep as mountain high?
Will darkest moment match the light?
Or once you're there you never leave?

Paradise Flower
03:31
|
|||
Gold and silver don't have any
But good liquor I have some
Trouble and worries I have many
Precious time ain't got none
I'm howling, howling at the moon
Smirking at the sun
My days are numbered
I'm not the chosen one
Oh how I wonder
What my number will be
Is it more than one
Or less than three?
Gold and silver....
Deep down in the valley
Where all rotten things flow
Where soil is dark and rich
Paradise flower will grow
It will not stay long
But I'll be on time
When in nearest river town
Evening bells chime
Gold and silver...

"Beneath my palm trees, by the river side,
I sat a weeping: in the whole world wide
There was no one to ask me why I wept..."
